Vittorio (WIP) by Corrina Ferguson

Cast this on last week and finding it to be…totally awesome!! This pattern is so much fun, and was designed specifically with highly variegated yarns in mind. I knew I had to cast it on immediately! I’m using my own yarn for this one; my Twinkle Sock base in the Haunted House colorway. I think this pattern and colorway work so well together and will be lovely to wear in October!

Also, this base is very fun, I’ll admit, I’ve not knit with it very much but I totally forget that I’m knitting with a sparkly yarn and then when I look down at my knitting it’s such a nice surprise!

Lala’s Simple Shawl (WIP) by Laura Linneman

I just started this over the weekend and totally love it already! This is a really popular pattern (nearing 2000 projects and for good reason!) and because of that I’ve decide to make a few modifications to make mine more unique, like me. Just simple things like a different increase along the center stitch and a different cast on, and a few other small things. You can find those details on my Ravelry project page.

I’m knitting this Unwind Yarn Co. - Weekend Sock in the Faded Graffiti colorway. Dana is a master at color and I fell in love with this one right away. I knew I wanted to knit this into a simple textured shawl and I’m so happy to finally be knitting this up for myself. I simply adore it!

If you like this pattern (I don’t know why you wouldn’t!) and want to knit along with me there’s currently a KAL going on in the designer’s group. I will also be using this for the final SSK (Super Summer Knittogether) KAL as well as for the Gratitude KAL hosted by the wonderful Fat Squirrel Speaks podcast. You should definitely check her out, she is wonderful!

Lacy Baktus (WIP) by Terhi Montonen

I just started working on this awesomely simple shawl on Sunday and I’m totally loving it already. It’s knit sideways until you have half of your yarn left and then you start your decreases.  So simple, so prefect.

I’m knitting it with Tempted, Good Grrl in the Deviant Behaviour colorway (which I bought from The Loopy Ewe). It is super pretty; the perfect blend of purple, cranberry and black. I think it works just right for this pattern. I’m knitting this up for the SSK KAL #4 (knit-a-long), I love that these KALs have given me the opportunity to buy from and support other other indies vending at this retreat. I’m so looking forward to meeting all of them! I only have until the 15th to finish but that shouldn’t be a problem if I find time to work on it everyday.

Nalu Mitts (WIP) by Leila Raabe

Currently working on these gorgeous simple mitts out of my brand new base (which will be available to purchase in April). My new base, named Simple DK is an incredibly soft 100% Superwash Merino represented in a single ply, DK weight. It’s like knitting with clouds. It’s just so cozy and soft and lovely next to the skin. Enough about that, this pattern is also awesome, and FREE and I adore the simplicity of it.  The wavy cables and seed stitch look so pretty and knit up so quickly! Go make some!

On a side note, if you’ve placed an order this week you’ll be getting a small sample of this yarn with your orders so that you can feel it and decide if it’s something you’d be interested in.

cozy thermal mitts (WIP)

Currently working on some mitts out of my Clematis colorway in my Merino Worsted base to add to my booth for my first time vending September 24th at YarnCon. So stinkin’ excited and nervous about this event but I know as long as I stay calm and focused it will all come together. I finished one mitt the day I cast on, it was less than three hours of knitting. So it should be no problem to get this second mitt later this week. Whoop, whoop!

the beekeeper’s quilt (WIP)

Call me crazy, but I too have started making little hexagons for The Beekeeper’s Quilt by Tiny Owl Knits.  I’ve been playing around with a few design ideas. I’ve decided that my blanket will be mostly shades of gray with some pops of color here and there. I already have one super rainbow blanket in the works and I just wanted this one to be more mellow.  I am so in love with it already.

Current WIP

Cast on yesterday for my: Westknits Mystery Shawl KAL 2011: Earth & Sky (pattern (ravelry) - my project page.  So far I’ve finished Clue #1 and now I have to wait until the 8th for the next clue.  Boo.  This is my first time doing intarsia knitting and it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be.  I’m so excited to see how the rest of this shawl will look.

Knit with Sunshine Yarns - Classic Sock in Raccoon Hollow, Rose Quartz and Red Hots on size 4 US needles.
