Nalu Mitts (FO) by Leila Raabe

These mitts were a total dream to knit. I can’t believe how heavenly this yarn is. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said it was like knitting with clouds. It really is that soft; just what I imaging pillowy clouds to feel like. Anyway, this pattern is equally as awesome and with the DK weight they knit up incredibly fast and would make for lovely last minute gifts. You have no excuse not to go make some for yourself!

P.S. This brand new yarn base will be available in my shop starting April 16th. I hope to have near 20 colorways available that day!

pattern (ravelry) - my project page

In an effort to be a little more organized I’ve spent the past few evenings working on getting some “color cards” set up on here.  I think I’ve got all the current repeatable colorways listed with photos. Please let me know what you think. Is it easy to navigate? I thought it was pretty nice to be able to see all the colors from each series all together.

Going through all of these old photos has reminded me that I need some new colors! I have lots of ideas for new series but I just haven’t had the time to act on them. Hopefully that will change as soon as I’m through all the special orders that came in before the price increase. The end is near so maybe I’ll have some new colors by May. That is my goal anyway; fingers crossed!

Lacy Baktus (WIP) by Terhi Montonen

I just started working on this awesomely simple shawl on Sunday and I’m totally loving it already. It’s knit sideways until you have half of your yarn left and then you start your decreases.  So simple, so prefect.

I’m knitting it with Tempted, Good Grrl in the Deviant Behaviour colorway (which I bought from The Loopy Ewe). It is super pretty; the perfect blend of purple, cranberry and black. I think it works just right for this pattern. I’m knitting this up for the SSK KAL #4 (knit-a-long), I love that these KALs have given me the opportunity to buy from and support other other indies vending at this retreat. I’m so looking forward to meeting all of them! I only have until the 15th to finish but that shouldn’t be a problem if I find time to work on it everyday.

This weeks shop update has been made (@ Another Crafty Girl).  Hope you all find something that you like today. As you can see the new prices have gone into effect. Also, I’m still working my way through a ton of special orders so my updates are still smaller than where I’d like them to be.

Hope you all have a great week!

Also, the new base being introduced on April 16th is called Simple DK and will be sold for $23.00.

Thank you all for being so understanding. I know that nobody likes to see prices go up and neither do I, but it was necessary for me to do in order to continue to dye yarn for all you lovely people.

Nalu Mitts (WIP) by Leila Raabe

Currently working on these gorgeous simple mitts out of my brand new base (which will be available to purchase in April). My new base, named Simple DK is an incredibly soft 100% Superwash Merino represented in a single ply, DK weight. It’s like knitting with clouds. It’s just so cozy and soft and lovely next to the skin. Enough about that, this pattern is also awesome, and FREE and I adore the simplicity of it.  The wavy cables and seed stitch look so pretty and knit up so quickly! Go make some!

On a side note, if you’ve placed an order this week you’ll be getting a small sample of this yarn with your orders so that you can feel it and decide if it’s something you’d be interested in.

This weeks update is up (@ Another Crafty Girl).  Hope you all find something that you like today.  This is technically the last update before the price increase…though I may push that back a week or two since the increase is more than I expected since I just found out that prices were going up from my supplier as well.

Blueberry Scowl - by Liz Abinante (FO)

My Blueberry Scowl is all done! I’m so tickled that Liz chose to design with my yarn. It makes me feel like I’m a professional! She designed this scowl (scarf+cowl) with my Merino Worsted base in the Blueberry colorway so I decided to make one just like it! This will be a beautiful sample knit that I will have in my booth at any rereats/yarn shows I vend at this year so some of you might get to see it in person!
